Green Lantern Blog: The New 52

You’ve heard of the “New 52” – after all, it’s still being called that – but how much do you really know about it?  In this blog post adapted from material written around the release of the DCnU, I talk about its strengths and weaknesses.

I’m likely to revisit this at some point.  At the moment, I still agree with everything in the article below, and as such I feel no great need to change it.  I’m less knowledgeable about the “New 52” than I was then, largely because it’s been two and a half years and I don’t have a half dozen sources feeding me information on comics that I haven’t read any more.  These blogs were written using the information of several other reviewers, as well as the research from an (intended) weekly comic review series titled “52 Weeks of Green Lantern”.  It never quite got to 52 weeks because the money ran out, but I got about halfway there and had more than enough information to introduce a newcomer to the first year of these stories.

This series of blogs is about the 2011 new status quo of the Green Lantern universe. I’ve looked at 5 different comic titles of the new 52: Justice League, Green Lantern, Red Lanterns, Green Lantern Corps, and Green Lantern: New Guardians.
