Repost: A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The stuff from which nightmares are made!  Why is this low budget 1984 slasher flick one of my favorite films of all time?

You wouldn’t know to look at it, but A Nightmare on Elm Street was actually the first review I ever wrote, in December of 2006.  You wouldn’t know because that version has been lost to time.  It was about 500 words and had more plot summary than review.  I never submitted it as an official review for these reasons, though it was visible on the informal review section of Fight-Evil.com as I submitted the other seven reviews in the franchise before I rewrote it.  Once I rewrote the post, I deleted the original one, and never bothered to keep it around.  Nowadays, I’d like to have it around just as an example, but perhaps it’s better that my first failed effort at writing is hidden from the public eye.

Nancy and her friends are being stalked through their dreams, murdered by a man who can’t possibly exist.  When Nancy discovers a link between this killer and her parents’ past, she begins to wonder who she can really trust.  More importantly, she begins to wonder if there’s a way to get out of Elm Street alive.  Read the review here.
